How to grant access to your Google Ads account
There are two ways to give an agency access to your Google Ads account. You can invite a person by email, or the agency can link your account to their manager account using your Customer ID. For an agency, the manager link is usually the better route: it doesn't use up a user seat and lets them work from one login.

How to do it
01
Open Access and security
Sign in at ads.google.com. In the left menu click Admin, then Access and security. You'll land on the Users tab.
Admin → Access and security → Users
02
Invite the person
Click the blue plus button, enter their email address, and pick an access level. Email only sends them reports. Read only lets them view campaigns. Standard lets them edit campaigns, which is enough for most agencies to run your ads. Admin can add and remove other users.
03
Send the invitation
Click Send invitation. They'll get an email and have to click the link in it to accept. Until they do, the invite shows as pending.
Tip. If your agency says they can't see the account, check the Users tab for a pending invite and resend it. Nine times out of ten that's the whole problem.
04
Or accept a manager link instead
If your agency prefers to link your account to their manager account, give them your Customer ID. They'll send a link request. You then go to Admin, Access and security, click the Managers tab, and click Accept next to the request.
Admin → Access and security → Managers → Accept
05
Keep a second admin
Make sure at least two people at your business have Admin access, so nobody gets locked out if one person leaves.
Careful.
Admins can remove other users, including you. Standard access is enough for an agency to run campaigns. Give Admin only when someone truly needs to manage users.
HOW TO KNOW IT WORKED
After they accept, the person appears in Admin > Access and security > Users with a status other than pending, and you get a notification in your account. For a manager link, the agency shows under the Managers tab.
